3 Reasons that Chasing Perfect Mechanics is not Ideal...

The prevailing thought in sports training is that the purpose of practice is to create muscle memory that one can call upon during the game event. The author of the theory of 10,000 hours for mastery, Malcolm Gladwell, has since stated that this theory is not entirely accurate. While it is accurate that the more time you spend on something, the more likely it is that you improve at it; it is more important to have deliberate practice that has a specific plan and structure in place. I say all of this to re-emphasize that in sports you have to be adaptable to your environment and all of the factors at play during training and the game events.
